Import Permit For Plastics

An import permit is required for certain plastic products, particularly non-biodegradable plastics like polyethylene bags. Importers must apply to the Director of Environment to ensure the plastics are used for approved purposes, such as packaging food, medical items, or agricultural needs. The permit system helps control plastic waste, ensuring responsible usage while supporting environmental protection efforts. Compliance is monitored by Fiji Customs, with penalties for violations.
